Support

Cajón Studio is made by a small team. There is no ticket queue and no chatbot — an email goes straight to a person, and we read all of them.

It helps a lot if you tell us your device model, its iOS or Android version, the app version (shown at the bottom of Settings), and what you were doing when it went wrong.

Common questions

I hear no sound.

Turn up the media volume with the volume buttons while the app is open. On iPhone, the silent switch does not mute Cajón Studio, so if the switch is on and you still hear nothing, the volume itself is down or the sound is going somewhere else.

Check whether Bluetooth headphones or a speaker are connected — the sound may be playing there. If another app (a call, a video, a voice recorder) holds the audio output, close it and reopen Cajón Studio.

There is a delay between my tap and the sound.

Almost always this is Bluetooth. Wireless headphones and speakers add a delay of their own that no app can remove. For tight timing, use the device speaker or wired headphones.

Then open Settings → Audio → Latency and try Low or Lowest. If you hear crackles, choose a more stable setting. If your lesson scores feel early or late even though you are on the beat, run Settings → Calibrate timing once with the headphones or speaker you practise with.

Why doesn’t hitting harder make it louder?

Phone screens cannot measure how hard you press. Touch dynamics uses the size of your finger contact instead, where the device reports it: a flatter, fuller touch plays louder. Adjust its Sensitivity in Settings, or turn it off for an even level.

Where are my recordings, and how do I export them?

Recordings are listed in the Studio tab and stored inside the app on your device — nowhere else. From there you can listen back and share a take as a WAV or M4A file or as a visualizer video through your phone’s share sheet — save it to Files, send it in a message, or post it.

Deleting the app deletes its recordings, so export the ones you want to keep first.

I reinstalled or changed phone. How do I get Pro back?

Pro and Remove ads belong to the store account you bought them with. Sign in to the same App Store or Google Play account and tap Restore purchases in Settings or on the Pro screen. Purchases do not move between the App Store and Google Play. Lesson progress, your grooves and recordings stay on the old device; we do not keep a copy.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

Free: the Flamenco Starter kit, the metronome, recording and sharing, the 8 Foundations lessons and 5 grooves. Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription — that adds 3 more kit voicings, 7 more grooves and the Beat Designer, 18 more lessons and the studio tools, and removes ads. Remove ads is a separate one-time purchase. A short optional video ad on the Pro screen can unlock Pro for 15 minutes. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

How do I turn off diagnostics or change my ad choices?

Share diagnostics in Settings is off unless you turned it on; switch it off at any time. Use Advertising privacy choices in Settings to review your ad consent. On iPhone you can also change tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. With Pro or Remove ads, no ads are requested at all. The Privacy Policy has the full picture.

Which languages does the app speak?

Cajón Studio is available in 17 languages. It follows your device language; choose another one in Settings → Language.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account — there is nothing to sign up for. Playing, lessons, grooves and recording all work offline. A connection is needed to buy or restore purchases, to show ads in the free version, and to send diagnostics if you turned them on.

Can I publish what I record?

Yes. Your recordings are yours, commercially or otherwise. The cajón and nylon guitar samples are CC0 recordings from FreePats, and the grooves and lessons are original. You remain responsible for the rights in any song you play along to. See the Terms of Use.

Reporting a bug

Please include your device model, its operating system version, the app version from the bottom of Settings, whether headphones or a Bluetooth device were connected, and what you did just before the problem. A screen recording is worth a hundred words. We reply to everything, usually within a few days.
